Better spending power without lighting up!

Do you smoke?

If you do, do you know the consequences of your habit?

There are not only health concerns, social and financial ones too!

I think the most important factor would be money. ($.$) I mean, who doesn’t care about money? It’s like one of the important factor to determine whether you can be happy with your life or not!

On average, 1 pack of cigarettes costs $11.30 in Singapore. Smoking just 1 pack a day would easily sum up to $4,000 a year!!

That’s a lot of money! Considering you could actually pick up a skill, save up for a holiday, go shopping.. The possibilities are simply endless!

For myself, of course the first thing I’ve to worry about is the maintenance of my motorbike. It’s like one of my biggest expenditure per month.

clip_image001

This is roughly how much I spend on my Honda 150cc monthly.

Fuel: $200

Parking: $18

Maintenance: $200

Some people don’t pay for their bikes in full cash, and most of them are still tied down with loans and debts.

So, my expenditure on my motorbike monthly is already considered below average, which sums up to $418.

$418 per month isn’t a small amount at all.

Other than worrying about my motorbike, I’ll still have other factors to worry for!

FOOD!

I think this is the biggest killer, the need for food taps your money slowly and painfully. Per day, on the average, I spend $5 for breakfast, $10 on lunch, and $8 on dinner again. That sums up to $23! Not to mention the money I spend on snacks! I eat A LOT though I’m skinny.

So, $690 is what I spend on food on the average for a month! Gosh! Now I know how my money run so fast!

Considering these two major factors, It already sums up to $1108!

Not to mention the money I spend on entertainment, shopping, etc. etc.!

And…

Many of you readers know I’m enlisting soon! I wouldn’t have time to work! And considering the meagre amount of money the government gives us for NS allowance, picking up smoking would definitely reduce my spending power greatly! I wanna come out of NS and get a car!

Getting back on track,

WHERE GOT MONEY TO SMOKE!?

Sometimes I really wonder where all the smokers find money to burn.

Do you guys actually realise that being tobacco free can really release your financial burden?

Many times I’ve asked my smoker friends to quit smoking, and they’ll give me lots of lies saying that they are gonna quit soon. If you are a smoker, do you know that ALL your non-smoker friends are moving ahead because their financial burdens are lesser than yours?

How about women smokers?

Countless women have attracted my attention on the streets, but when the girl suddenly whip out her lighter and cigarettes, it just turns me off. I mean, does it really look that cool? I don’t think I’ll ever want a girlfriend who smokes.

Can you imagine me smoking? Well I can’t!

Do you know if you smoke, you will not only get bad health, you’ll look older faster!

The guys at HPB took a photo of me, sent it through the APRIL software . It gave me a sneak peek of how I would look like in the future!

The middle picture is how I would look like when I’m 55 years old non-smoker. The picture on the right is how I would look like when I’m 55 year old smoker. A lot more wrinkles! I don’t want!

By the way, before I forget,

Movie preview of The Last Song

I was invited to watch the Movie Preview of The Last Song.

clip_image001

The Last Song, is not the last song sung by Miley Cyrus thankfully.

It is a movie that talks about Love for the first time, how a teenager copes with growing up, and also coping with a Father’s terminal illness, cancer. The movie is easy to relate to because it is what we go through, or what anyone may be going through in life now.

I enjoyed the movie because there were several scenes that touched my heart. Not something you will experience in a normal day routine life. I’m touched to see as a third party, how painful it is, and how courageous one must be in order to stay calm and be strong during the last days of a dying man’s life, and especially if that man happens to be your father.

Then there is love and trust. We often think that it is easy to not care about the thoughts of our family members when we date. The different backgrounds we come from affects our relationships in reality.

A really cool show to watch! Must watch this show!
