Solo Travelogue to Hat Yai, Thailand Day 1

It’s now Day 1, 9:41 PM Thai time.

Booked a flight to Hat Yai because of the free travel package I won from being Mr. Eco Friendly with Teens Model Search earlier this year.

Solo trip.

Woke up like 8 this morning, did reallyyyyyy last minute packing for the seemingly long 5 day trip.

Rushed and reached the airport at 10.30 am.

Then McDonalds’, just the way I like it, Breakfast Deluxe plus an additional scrambled egg. =X

I tell you, I’m going to get fat on this trip lah!

Eat, sleep. Eat, sleep.

Checked in, and this innocent looking cabinet revived my Blackberry!

Booked a room at Lee Gardens Hotel.

Reached, and although the room isn’t very appealing, it isn’t too shabby either.

Just below the hotel is a popular shopping mall!

First thing I did was to purchase a prepaid sim card and set up my blackberry data plan! But there isn’t a plan that goes by week! All by month, 30 days!

In the end I bought DTAC’s Happy internet sim card at 69 baht, and topped it up with a blackberry access plan for 350 baht.

Quite costly.

Well next, had to fill the grumbling stomach again!

Had lunch at Sizzler.

Gave me the perfect excuse to play with my new Sony NEX 5.

Stunning depth-of-field on a camera this size.

Almost the size of a point-and-shoot digital cam, but delivers DSLR quality images!

Pardon my shabby photography skills, but this piece of bread, this lonely halved pieced of garlic bread, is the BEST bread I’ve ever tasted in my life!

Yum!

Salad buffet! :D

Main course: Southwest grilled chicken

Playing with the camera again:

The chicken was great, but the baked potato was… Er.. Not.

And then, desserts! Mousse!

After which, went for a walk around the hotel, and to my dismay, there’s really nothing much to see around here.

It’s kinda like Singapore in the 70s?

Well, shall I go for a massage now or watch TV to sleep?

I’ll be back soon!~
